Notes for George Westwood BROWN

General Note
Both George and his wife died at 'Taramer' 15 Button Street, Mowbray. They were married in the house of Henry Plummer in Galdstone in the Ringarooma registration district. He was 22 and she 25 when they married. He was a 'carpenter' and she was 'with friends'. Clergyman J C Campbell. Married by licence according to the rites of the Church of England. Witnesses were Henry and Helenor Plummer. On the same sheet others were married at Ringarooma Camp Hotel and at the house of W Clark, Mt Victoria Road, Ringarooma.

When he was born, his father's occupation was given as 'Licensed Victualler'. The informant was Richard Webb of Launceston.

His will states that he was a State of Tasmania Railway Employee, presumably meaning he had a pension. He recommended his wife to the 'affectionate care of my said children but by way of a precatory and not a mandatory trust in witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand this 22nd day of March 1924.' He appointed both his children as trustees and executors.
