PHOTOGRAPHS OF PICARDIE VILLAGES
AND DOCUMENTS
2006
The links given here fill in the detail given in the main page to do with the de Croisettes villages, which you can see here.
These links will take you to directories with narratives, maps and photographs showing villages and documents that relate to the genealogy concocted, probably for Pierre de Croisettes, claiming descent and the rights to a fictitious (according to the notable historian Bernard Guenée)coat of arms from Colard de Croisettes.
We travelled by car round all the villages we were able to identify and reach, in sweltering heat, after a trip to the library in Beauvais, where were able to clear up some confusion about the names.
Follow the links for a tour of the area. It's well worth a visit, taking up to a week to see it properly.
Not all of the locations listed in the genealogy appear here. We failed to find some in time. Just a reminder, see the web page for a full list of villages named in the genealogy here.
