DE CROISETTES FAMILY ITEMS

The two depictions of the coat of arms attributed to Pierre de Croisettes, and the three portraits, were passed down the family in the Alfred Croisette line. Two of the portraits have been restored. They were probably all done in the early to mid-1800s after the family hit hard times, John Isaac was dead, but his sons were all working and probably earning enough to indulge in having pictures painted. The references in the labelled crest to a shipwreck might be to do with the French-England wars in the 1750s. The second coat of arms with 'mantle' was found among the possessions of Rosetta Hurtzig who married into the family.
