Notes for Mary Jane WALKER

General Note
Bequeathed £3 in the 1863 will of aunt Mary Jane Walker.

Baptism: 08 NOV 1818 Saint Peter, Leeds

Working as a servant in the 1841 census.

In the 1851 census, she and Elizabeth are with her husband whose name is represented as Peter, then crossed out and replaced with Richard. He was a clerk at a woollen mill manufacturers.

In the 1861 census, with her husband, now a bricklayer, and children at Thomas Street, Southcoates, Kingston on Hull.

In 1871, at 74 Thomas Street, William has had a promotion and is now Inspector of Works, Board of Health. Their daughter Ann is home, surname Simmons, a widow at 27 with three small children.

A widow in 1881, still in Southcoates, now a lodging house keeper. Mary Jane Storr, age 62 born in Garforth. Still at home at Thomas Street is a granddaughter, Sarah Simmons, born in Leeds.
