At the time of the 1901 census Florence was living in Prittlewell, Essex. Her age was given
as 26, and she was born in 'London, Bow'. The rest of the Andrews family were close by, those
still at home living with their parents in the registration district of South Shoebury, perhaps
in the Andrews home at Westcliffe on Sea. The only birth which might match 'Bow', is this, with Marion spelled as Maryon. Florence's great-aunt was Mary Ann, and this name goes down the family in various forms. Her marriage to Albert Harwood was recorded with her middle named spelt Marian. For this reason, this version of her name is given here. Births Sep 1873: ANDREWS Florence Maryon Poplar 1c 612. Marriages Jun 1899 Andrews Florence Marian W Ham 4a 174 It is not known when or where or how she died. Deaths searched on the GRO 1935-39 with no luck She wrote a postcard to her brother 'Ted' (Ernest) and Rose, dated 29 June 1907 from Southend on Sea. "Dear Ted & Rose, Doll [presumably Margery] arrived home last night, well but tired. The weather has changed at last. Shall expect you to come down one Sunday till Monday now. With love from all to all. Your loving sister Flo." |
