Notes for Albert DANIEL

General Note
His birth registration was in London. Mile End, December quarter, 1885, volume 1c, p. 517.

He went to sea. In the 1901 census he was in a boy apprentice in the Royal Navy, based on the 'Lion' at Devonport in Cornwall. The ship had a large crew of 'Privates' and apprentices. It looks as if the Lion was a training ship at Devonport with a large contingent of Royal Marines doing the work. Some of the boys were training as bandsmen. There were more than 500 on board, including the family of the commander. According to a family member in Australia, Albert married a girl named Florence then died of dengue fever. If anyone knows anything about Florence, please get in touch.
