Avril Andrews was an extraordinarily beautiful woman, the youngest of the family, born considerably
after her siblings. She visited the Daniel family in Norwich many times in the company of her brother Erroll. She impressed Gwyneth particularly with her Hasselblat camera. She took two notable portraits, one of Nell and Trevor, and another of Gwyneth. She died tragically of Viral Pneumonia (doctors thought it was Legionnaire's disease but her death certificate said VP) after moving to South Africa and having her family there. She and her husband went there via Rhodesia and Auckland, New Zealand. In 1984, she sent some photographs to her cousin Trevor Daniel, including one of Lorna Rose, clipped off at the side perhaps to place in an album, so the writing is part obscured: 'sneaking the ....my Choc I hid away!! Beast?) Avril and Wally's daughter Lorna Rose -- all 3 living in J'Burg @ the present time - whilst the 3 boys are in Port Elizabeth. (Young Jason @ boarding school.) New date of death: 31 Aug 1989 |
