young. Marriages Mar 1848 to ANDERSON William W. London 2 215. The family appears in the
1851 census in Stepney, at 17 Smith Street. William is a Clerk at the London docks, age 25
from Lambeth. They have with them Thomas A and an un-named new baby, also a boy, later called
Alfred. Emma died young and her husband married a widow. Deaths Jun 1852 ANDERSON Emma Stepney 1c 312. In the 1871 census, the family has moved. The boys' stepmother has left home or died and they are both now working as clerks, Alfred with an accountants' firm, Thomas's illegible. Their address is 13 Major Road, Bermondsey, Southwark. This address puts them within walking distance of their Wohlmann grandparents and cousins.
