Thomas and Ann went to the United States of America. A reference on the website for the New York American Legion, as at August 2004: http://www.ny.legion.org/e-mail_directory.htm William Kearsing, Chairman. Thomas Kearsing was a pianoforte maker. He appears in the 1850 USA Census for New York, children Anna C 30, Lydia 35, George 43, William 40, all born in England. No sign of his wife. From a contact through the web: Sidney Kearsing, married a Lila Joyce, part of the Bradley line. Sidney was born about 1896, from the Spring Valley, NY area. Thomas was still alive in 1850 although Ann did not appear on the same list: Thomas Kearsing 74 1775 England Male New York Ward 17, New York, NY. All his children are there with him, save Henry. They did not appear to have married as there were no younger Kearsings around, although there was a namesake of Thomas's son in California. |
