Edward was a postman in 1901 census for the Fulham area at 39 Bishops Road. He was 28 years old and born in Pentonville, London.

There is an entry in the 1881 census for Haystone, Donhead St Mary, Wiltshire. An Edward Frampton (8) is there with his brother Charles (7) and sister Gertrude (6). All three children were born in Islington. Also in the house is their grandmother, Elizabeth Street, a farmer of 23 acres, born in Semley, aged 75, their aunt Elizabeth, unmarried, aged 32, born at Donhead and their uncle Thomas aged 30, unmarried, born there too.

The children's mother was working in London as an assistant matron, in short a prison officer in a women's prison. She was by then a widow.

Edward's death was registered in the June quarter in Brentford. His two Christian names were given to his grandson, born a short time later.

His family were very proud of him as he was given a bravery award for saving a woman from fire. He apparently killed the fire with his post bag.
