The 1881 census shows a widowed Fanny Westcott of the right age, ie 49 and born in Hackney. The head of house is her son Anthony, a Commercial Traveller, born in Walworth Surrey. The rest of the children are there too at 31 Henry Street, London, Middlesex, although there might have been others who had already left home.

This individual was not in the house with the rest of the family in the 1881 census. He was by then married:

In the 1901 census for 42 Westbury Road, West Ham, father is not at home, perhaps in the USA buying sewing machines. Minnie is a pianoforte teacher (on her own account at home), while the boys are variously checkers, a dining room waiter, or at school. This is the line-up:
