Notes for Emma Clarissa MAYNE

General Note
In the 1901 census Emma was still unmarried, working as a Draper's Assistant, living with her parents and her nieces and nephews.

She married in 1904 at the Parish Church of sutton. he was 37, a spinster, and her groom 38, a bachelor. He was a 'Railway Inspector' and lived at 9 Haddon Road, Sutton. His father was Richard Allchin, a Coachman. Her own address was 27 Morland Road, Sutton, her father Henry Mayne a Painter. The witnesses were the two fathers, Richard Allchin and Henry Mayne.

Her will bequeathed all her money and belongings equally to her brother Willie and sisters Nellie and Lucy. The informant on her death certificate was her niece Evelyn A Legg, daughter of Nellie Beatrice Legg, of 7 Willett Road, Thornton Heath. Emma was described as of 31 ? Woodingdean, Brighton, Susex, widow of Richard Allchin, Railway Stationmaster retired. Emma spent the last weeks of her life in a nursing home at Bramleycroft, Haling Park Road, Croydon. She appeared there in the register of electors, under St John's Nursing Home. The cause of her death was myocardial degeneration and arterio sclerosis.
