Births Dec 1875 Woods Albert Edward Whitechapel 1c 381. In the 1891 census: a visitor, a barman, age 17, single, born at Tower Hill, visiting a Liverpudlian widow, aged 70, named Sarah Walker at St Botolph Aldgate Ecclesiastical parish: Whitechapel St Pauls Dock Street. It is hard to say whether this is our Albert except that this same lady visited the family in London before his parents died. 1901 census. He is with his wife Martha A, age 23, 15 Oakden Street, St Philip Kennington, Lambeth. He is working as a typecaster. He gave his place of birth as St Martins, London. This was part of Aldersgate, so roughly in the right area. In the 1911 census, he and Martha are living in Croydon with their two children: WOODS ERNEST ALBERT M 1906 5 Croydon Surrey WOODS WINIFRED IVY F 1902 9 Croydon Surrey Is this his death? Blean is in Kent. Deaths Jun 1935 Woods Albert E 61 Blean 2a 1272 The age is slight wrong. he would have been more like 63. |
