It is not known for sure whether this individual belongs in this family, but we do know that
he was not in the direct line of 'Charles' Lecroisett as he is not mentioned in the Benfleet
Bible. He is therefore placed here for the record until some certainty can be gained on his
proper lineage. William and Ann were married by banns, their witnesses were John De La Croissette,
presumably his brother and Catharine Elizabeth De La Croisette. This is reasonable proof, in
the author's view, that William belongs in this family. The second witness could have been
their unmarried aunt Catharine, who knows both her and her sister Elizabeth! As we also have an Elizabeth with no home, ie no parents to attach her to, she could be placed her as a child of this couple, even though her date of birth might be incorrectly estimated. |
