censuses as a married woman, Katherine Pemberton, a 36 year-old flower maker, living with her
mother and siblings at 25 St John's Road, Goswell Street, Clerkenwell. She was still going strong in the 1891 census, aged 67, living at 10 Dyer's Almshouses, one of a set of Almshouses, eg The Tilers and Bricklayers Almshouses. These come immediately after Balls Pond Road and King Henry's Walk on the Census returns for East Islington, St Jude's. In the 1901 census, she is now described as Katherine, age 76, born in Islington. On the Ancestry.co.uk site she is entered as Pamberton. The fiche is indistinct, but the enumerator has quite clearly written her down as 'wife' along with dozens of other almshouse inhabitants. She has 2 rooms at no. 5 in the same Almshouses. No death has been traced either, as at April 2005. |
