In the 1881 census: Bernard Carsberg abt 1860 South Hornsey, Middlesex, England Grandson 94 Shaftsbury St, St Leonard, London, England F.James Carsberg abt 1863 Shoreditch, Middlesex, England Son 94 Shaftsbury St, St Leonard, London, England Frederick Carsberg abt 1816 Shoreditch, Middlesex, England Head 94 Shaftsbury St, St Leonard, London, England Hannah Carsberg abt 1860 Shoreditch, Middlesex, England Daughter 94 Shaftsbury St, St Leonard, London, England Maria Carsberg abt 1819 Shoreditch, Middlesex, England Wife 94 Shaftsbury St, St Leonard, London, England Marriages Mar 1884, with insufficient males for this page. Carsberg Hannah Maria Shoreditch 1c 226. Of the two shown, she cannot be linked according to census material, but the man shown below does not appear on the GRO fiche. They are sometimes left off, so this is possible, as there is considerable evidence to follow that they did marry. So, married to an Albert Burrell from Norfolk in the 1891 and 1901 censuses? He was a marine stores dealer in the 1871, with his wife Mary Ann, and again in 1881, a paper and woollen dealer in Islington. He had married Mary Ann Gale in 1865 in Shoreditch. Mary Ann died: Deaths Mar 1883 BURRELL Mary Ann 39 Poplar 1c 498. Oddly, in this household in the 1881 census was young Albert Burton, a relative of Hannah Carsberg, described here as a 'nephew'. So was Mary Ann also a member of the family? |
